Well it’s not like we couldn’t see it coming but Noel has finally quit Oasis.

Noel quoting on Oasis’s website states

“It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

“Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan.”

Well fair enough Noel – how you have stuck it out with Liam for so longĀ  is a mystery to me – I guess the chance to continue the rock and roll lifestyle and earn a few quid on the way goes some way to helping.

Still more time to go and watch the glorious Manchester City, eh Noel?

Surely this is a no brainer for the committee of the IOC, seven sports have put forward their case to be included in the olympics. Faced with the decision though how do they quantify a sport for it’s inclusion?

The sports are:

Rugby Sevens
Golf
Karate
Squash
Roller Sports
Softball
and Baseball

Surely this would be fairly easy to eliminate a few of these by number of countries that play the sport? Or active participants. It does leave the question though on how to qualify players, numbers and popularity of sports.
Rugby Sevens would be my choice due to my passion for rugby, however, it’s such a difficult sport to quantify is it recognised as a sport per se or an offshoot of rugby union? Does it have a list of members?

Certainly Squash is a much easier sport to quantify as is Golf and to a lesser extent Karate. As a spectacle would roller sports be any less interesting than the sevens. Certainly opinion must differ Golf in the olympics to me would be excessively boring but to some would be incredible.

For my two pennies though rugby for the win: ur7’s deadline for olympics
